When you arrive in San Sebastian in the Basque Country, you are arriving at a transcendental place in the world gastronomy. Nowadays, this city is one of the icons of world gastronomy on par with Paris since it has the highest number of 3 Michelin restaurants per capita in the world. It is a city that is born in the surroundings of a beautiful bay which receives millions of visitors every year who come for different reasons such as film festivals, pilgrimages of faith and of course its gastronomy.

From small pintxo bars to large and luxurious restaurants, this city is the "DORADO" of food.

In this culinary pilgrimage I found a small bar in the historic center of the city. The day that arrives coincides with the culmination of a Regatta, for which it was filled up to the flags...

TIME OUT MARKET- Lisbon, Portugal

IME OUT MARKET.jpg

Lisbon is a wonderful city, with the perfect balance between written history and that which is about to be written. The perfect mixture between history and modernity, is where one of the most beautiful and functional markets of Europe rises; the Time Out Market.

Modern and well-planned place where you can find fresh seafood brought by the small fishing boats, as well as an extensive and varied exhibition of top-quality ingredients from all over Europe but especially top quality local.

Here you can taste a lot of options of high-quality dishes from the different restaurants located within its vicinity, each of high quality and renowned chefs.

Excellent place!

SALAMANCA RESTAURANT
You arrive in Barcelona and immediately your body relaxes. You know that you enter a cosmopolitan city where you can relax, but at the same time enjoy art, architecture, good food and good football.
One night I had the opportunity to visit a place located in the Barceloneta area on the recommendation of a relative of mine who lives in the area in which I had a very pleasant experience. I do not believe much in places of food focused on the masses of tourists, but this place does it very well and its service extremely friendly.
Of large portions for exaggerated moments but served with great cordiality and an overflowing freshness in their seafood I was very surprised with the quality of their seafood paella which was very good. Your name Salamanca.
Well located and informal place ideal to enjoy after a long day at the beach

MERCADO DE LA BOQUERIA- Barcelona, Spain

MERCADO DE LA BOQUERIA- Barcelona, Spain

A few weeks after the tragedy happened in "LAS RAMBLAS", I decided to venture and visit Barcelona. Obligatory visits such as "EL BARRIO GÓTICO", "LA SAGRADA FAMILIA", "LOS MONUMENTOS DE GAUDÍ", "EL PUERTO OLÍMPICO" or "EL CAMP NOU" made our day a unique experience. But the highest point of this day is "EL MERCADO DE LA BOQUERIA". Upon entering this labyrinth of exposed treasures, you find a diversity of scenarios and products of exquisite quality. From all kinds of seafood, the most representative hams in the region, the freshest vegetables in the city, the most exotic fruits of the city, the purest preserves or oils available, to an infinity of meals prepared at the moment with the finest ingredients of an exciting freshness.

This is where I spent most of my afternoon enjoying more than one delicacy starting with some oysters that seemed to have left the sea 5 minutes before. Sharing anecdotes and stories of various local artists (the term artist I use to talk about a person who cooks with imagination and passion) spent the hours between wines, hams and tapas.

Our day ended, not without a farewell with a Gin and Tonic in the hand of a person who wanted to return soon. I!

MERCADO DE SAN MIGUEL- Madrid, Spain

One of the first things  you have to do  when you arrive to Madrid, is to visit "El Mercado de San Miguel" for tapas.

Located in the center of the city behind Plaza Mayor, it's one of the city famous landmarks.

The high quality of the ingredients of the tapas you can get there, is what make them famous.

From great Iberico ham, olives from Seville, calamares from Galicia, morcilla from burgos, you can get almost anything there. It's a must to buy a hand carved Iberico ham at your arrival, paired with a nice rioja wine  to begin the journey in a proper way.

Great seafood , ham and drinks, at the end you will need a vermouth or a Gin and Tonic for the grand finale.
